What Can We Connect at Your Place?

If it runs on gas, we can fit it:

  • Cooktops and wall ovens, including changing an electric one over to gas
  • Freestanding cookers and upright stoves
  • A gas point for the BBQ on a deck or under a pergola
  • Heaters for pools and spas, with the larger supply pipe they draw from
  • Wall heaters and bayonet points for portable heaters

Every install gets the same finish: new pipe where it is needed, the appliance set up and lit, and each fitting checked with the gas detector.

How the Fitting Visit Works

  1. 01

    Ring or send the form

Call (02) 4063 3469 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.

  2. 02

    A fixed price first

A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.

  3. 03

    Pipe, fit and light up

We lay any new pipe, set the appliance in place, test each joint with the gas detector and light the burners while you watch.

  4. 04

    Covered for a year

Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.

How Is a Gas Install Priced?

An install is priced on the pipework it needs:

  • Distance from the meter A cooktop beside an existing gas point needs a short tail, and a pool heater by the back fence needs a long, wide run.
  • Size of the job A bayonet for a portable heater is a small job, and a wall oven that needs cabinetry cut is a larger one.
  • Whether the old pipe copes If the pipe feeding the kitchen is too narrow for the new appliance, enlarging it goes into the price.
  • After-hours bookings These run at a different rate, given before we book.

Old Lines Behind the Meter

Pipe sized for one stove

Gas reached many of the postwar fibro cottages here decades back, and some still have supply pipe that was only ever meant to feed one old stove and a heater.

Why it matters for a new appliance

Hook a modern oven or pool heater to pipe that narrow and it can run short of gas, with lazy yellow flames instead of a firm blue one. So every install quote includes a look at the pipe from the meter to the appliance, and the price covers any upgrade before the new unit is connected.

When We're Not the Right Call

The meter itself is the gas network's responsibility, so a fault there is theirs, and we explain that when you ring. If the appliance needs a new power point or circuit, such as an oven with a fan and no outlet nearby, an electrician wires it and we do the gas connection.

Questions About Appliance Fitting

Do I need a new gas line for a pool heater at my Gateshead place?

Quite possibly. A pool heater burns far more gas than a cooktop, so the existing pipe may need enlarging from the meter. We look at it when we quote, and any new pipe is in the fixed price.

Can you swap an electric cooktop for gas in a commission-era cottage?

Yes, provided the house has a gas meter. We run pipe to the kitchen, fit the cooktop and test every joint, and where the kitchen supply is undersized, the quote includes enlarging it.

Who checks the appliance after it is connected?

We do, before we go. Each joint is tested with the detector, the burners are lit and adjusted, and you see the appliance working. The job carries our 365-day warranty on all work.

Is a gas BBQ connection in Gateshead a licensed job?

Yes. In NSW any gas connection is licensed work, a small BBQ point included. It may be a short job, but the joints are still tested and the warranty is the same as for a whole kitchen.

For appliances that heat water, see gas storage and continuous-flow units under hot water, while shops on the highway can see commercial plumbing work.
